When The Blues Wasn’t Enough is a 6-minute video collage of found and original footage that juxtaposes the violences of police brutality and the murders of Black trans women. From archival family films to Malaysia Booker’s funeral, the piece weaves memory and grief into a bold call for accountability. Anchored by Zola’s original flag design, it is a testament to the shared struggle and resilience of Black and transgender communities.
